The district's deadline to respond to the class action lawsuit filed against them over marijuana grow-op inspections expired last Friday, forcing them to request an extension from the plaintiffs' lawyers, which has been granted.
Neither the plaintiffs' lawyer, nor the District of Mission would disclose the new deadline.
The class action lawsuit was launched July 7 by Stacey Gowanlock and Mark Rees, one of 499 property owners inspected by the Public Safety Inspection Team (PSIT) for possible marijuana grow operations between April 2008 and December 2010.
The PSIT program was put on indefinite review in January.
