Defence Minister Harjit Sajjan will deliver a keynote address later today at the Aerospace, Defence & Security Expo at Tradex, adjacent to Abbotsford International Airport.
The government says Sajjan will also “make an announcement to help strengthen the Canadian Aerospace and Defence sector.”
The speech takes place at 4 p.m. Sajjan will also attend the opening ceremonies of the Abbotsford International Air Show.
On Thursday, the Conservative defence critic, MP James Bezan spoke at a breakfast event. Bezan criticized the Liberal government in his remarks, saying “If a country is not prepared to defend itself, then it is not prepared to be a country.
“Canada has to have the right programs and the right missions all within a comprehensive security strategy. Unfortunately, the Liberals have failed on all these counts.”
The Aerospace, Defence & Security Expo features industry exhibits, speakers, and speeches, panels and workshops featuring government officials and industry leaders. Around 1,000 delegates are expected to attend.
