Around 10:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, a B-Train carrying corn gluten – a main ingredient in the production of cattle feed – had a problem with one of the hoppers on the trailer.
A piece of the unit broke, causing the corn gluten to spill onto Gladys Avenue between George Ferguson Way and Essendene Avenue. The spill was about 500 feet long and eight inches deep.
The company responsible for the load brought in a vacuum truck to clean up the corn gluten.
One lane was blocked for several hours.
