Abbotsford Police Const. Ian MacDonald said the schools were targeted starting at about 7 a.m. The culprits broke a lock and window at Abbotsford School of the Integrated Arts at 32041 Marshall Rd., but were unable to gain entry.

They were successful in breaking into Prince Charles elementary at 35410 McKee Rd. and Abbotsford Virtual School at 33952 Pine St. A total of five computers were stolen from the two sites.

MacDonald said the thieves avoided areas where surveillance cameras were set up.
