The Fraser Valley Auto Mall Food Drive holds its 11th annual convoy to deliver items to the Abbotsford Food Bank on Saturday, Dec. 16 at 11 a.m.

The items have been collected over the prior weeks at the nine auto mall dealerships, Automall Autobody, Fire Hall 1, The Abbotsford News and Save-On-Foods locations.

As well, firefighters have gone door to door in local neighbourhoods to collect donations.

The public is also invited to drop off items on Saturday morning prior to the convoy’s departure.

The convoy will consist of several vehicles from the auto mall, Abbotsford Fire Rescue Service and Save-On-Foods, as well as vehicles with the fire chief and mall manager.

The convoy will also include vehicles for the parade marshall and the Abbotsford Christmas Bureau.

They will do two loops around the auto mall – located on Mt. Lehman Road – and then will head along South Fraser Way to the food bank on Essendene Avenue.

From there, they will travel to the food bank warehouse on Progressive Way to unload the food items collected.

Last year, the drive brought in more than $50,000 in food donations.
