Abbotsford bank robbed by man with a gun

This is the second business robbed in the city in less than a week.

A bank in the 32100 block of South Fraser Way was robbed Saturday morning by a man carrying a black bag and a gun.

The incident took place just after 11:30 a.m. The man walked immediately to the teller, demanded cash, and left quickly after receiving it.

He is described as Caucasian, 30 to 40 years old, 5' 9" with a stocky build and scruffy facial hair.

The man was wearing glasses, a bright yellow baseball cap, a dark hoodie and light jeans.

Abbotsford Police Department patrol division officers, forensic identification unit members and major crime detectives are investigating.

This is the second robbery in Abbotsford in less than a week involving a man with a gun.

On Sunday, May 26, a liquor store was robbed in the 1900 block of North Parallel Road. The man in that incident was also Caucasian and described as about 5' 8" and over 200 pounds with a heavy build.

He, too, was wearing glasses and a baseball cap at the time.
