Small fire at McDonald's on Mt. Lehman Road

Quick action by employees and fire crews prevented major damage and injuries at an Abbotsford McDonald's on Monday night.

Crews from Abbotsford Fire Rescue Service were called just after 9 p.m. to the location on Mt. Lehman Road, where a small fire had begun in the fryers and spread up the wall.

The fire was quickly extinguished and resulted mainly in smoke damage.

Fire crews praised the staff for how well they handled the situation in quickly evacuating everyone from the restaurant.
