Just after noon on Saturday, a truck rolled over on Highway 1 just east of the Sumas exit. Several people were taken to hospital, including a woman who was airlifted and was later reported to be in critical condition.

The single-vehicle accident in the easbound lanes caused major traffic slowdowns eastbound and westbound early Saturday afternoon. Witnesses to the incident suggest another vehicle cut off the truck, which went out of control and overturned in an evasion attempt.

Details from freeway RCMP are unavailable at this time.
