Abbotsford man charged with child porn offences

An Abbotsford man has been charged with several child pornography offences following an investigation by local police.

Andrew Douglas Felling, 32, has been charged with making/distributing child porn, accessing child porn, distributing and possessing child porn, and sexual interference.

Const. Ian MacDonald of the Abbotsford Police Department (APD) said the charges were the result of "proactive work" by a local investigator, who was searching online for images of child sexual abuse.

He was able to trace the IP address of certain images to a residence in Abbotsford, and a search warrant was executed at that home on Dec. 6.

Felling was inside when police arrived, MacDonald said.

He said APD major crime investigators gathered evidence that Felling had sexually interfered with a youth, and he was arrested. He was charged the following day with sexual interference of a youth under the age of 16.

The other charges were laid in early January.

APD investigators are now asking for anyone with information about the investigation to come forward. They also want to determine if there are any other incidents that should be investigated, MacDonald said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the APD at 604-859-5225, text abbypd (222973) or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
