A man who was wanted by police in relation to the robbery of a woman who had just used a bank ATM turned himself in to police on Monday.

Hardev Singh Grewal, 29, showed up at the Abbotsford Police Department (APD) on Monday afternoon and was taken into custody without incident.

The APD issued a public notice on Thursday that a warrant had been issued for Grewal's arrest, and he was considered a public safety risk.

He was wanted in relation to a robbery on Dec. 15 that occurred after a 55-year-old woman used an ATM at a bank in the area of Trethewey Street and South Fraser Way. The woman was followed and robbed.

Grewal has been charged with robbery and was slated to appear yesterday (after press deadline) in Abbotsford provincial court for a bail hearing.
