Two arrested following attempted ATM break-in
Mission RCMP arrested two suspects after an interrupted break-in at the Mission SilverCity theatre on Tuesday.
The suspects had broken into the building and were attempting to break into the ATM in the lobby.
Mounties were alerted after power tools had been heard in use inside the building, and once they arrived spotted a grey minivan fleeing from the scene.
The minivan's flight from the area was cut short when it was blocked by a nearby train causing the suspects to abandon their vehicle and flee on foot. The two were arrested a short distance away.
A 35-year-old male from Maple Ridge and a 25-year-old female from Abbotsford are facing several charges related to this incident. The vehicle used by the suspects was a rental which is believed to have been fraudulently obtained.
