Event's focus on ending violence against women

Various organizations from Abbotsford and Mission are coming together at Jubilee Park on Thursday, Feb. 14 for an event focused on ending violence against women.

The event, One Billion Rising, takes place around the world.

Local organizations participating in the Abbotsford gathering are: University of the Fraser Valley, the Abbotsford Area Gogos, GirlKind Foundation, Women’s Resource Society of the Fraser Valley, Abbotsford Community Services, and the Fraser Valley Human Dignity Coalition.

The event starts at noon at Jubilee Park, located on McCallum Road and South Fraser Way. Dancers, guest speakers and refreshments are included. For more, visit facebook/abbotsfordonebillionrising.
