Rising country music star Eric Church is set to break a new attendance record at the Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre (AESC) tonight (Thursday).

Global Spectrum, operators of the AESC, said Church's concert, which begins at 7:30 p.m., is expected to draw more people than have even been in the venue at any one time, although the exact attendance figure wasn't yet available.

“A sold-out show is a fantastic way to start the new year,” said Global Spectrum’s Jason Blumenfeld, AESC general manager. “Eric Church is sure to put on a  great show for his fans in Abbotsford tonight. The atmosphere will be electric.”

Mayor Bruce Banman echoed the sentiments.

"The energy in this building during a sold-out show is absolutely fantastic," he said. "I am absolutely thrilled that Eric Church chose to launch his Canadian tour here in our city, and that we are able to give him such a warm welcome."

Church’s inaugural headlining arena event, the Blood, Sweat & Beers Tour – produced by Live Nation and Gold And Gold Productions – kicks off in Abbotsford and will make stops in Canada throughout February with special guest Colt Ford.
