Power outage caused by dug-up power lines
BC Hydro has identified the cause of a power outage on Dec. 27.
According to the website, the outage, which occurred in Abbotsford on Dec. 27 at approximately 1:25 p.m., was caused by power lines being accidentally dug up.
No explanation has yet been given on where the mishap occurred or who was responsible.
The outage impacted approximately 1,500 homes in the area south of Downes Road, north of Huntingdon Road, east of Queen Street and west of Bevan Avenue.
Power was restored by 5:30 p.m.
