Driver arrested for 300 pot plants while stopped at roadblock
A 24-year-old Abbotsford woman was arrested in Kelowna on Sunday evening after police found 300 marijuana plants in her vehicle when she stopped for a roadblock.
Central Okanagan Traffic Services members were conducting the sobriety check on Highway 33 at the Hall Creek rest area. They noticed a distinct odour coming from a Ford Explorer that they stopped.
A search turned up 300 pot plants in the early stages of development, as well as a small amount of bud.
The driver was arrested for possession for the purpose of trafficking and was released on a promise to appear in court in January.
