Abbotsford Fire Rescue saves injured dog trapped in ravine
The Abbotsford Fire Rescue Service (AFRS) rescued an injured dog stuck in a ravine near a residence on Sumas Mountain Road on Wednesday morning.
The call came in at 10 a.m., and fire crews arrived to find that an 11-year-old large breed dog was trapped in the ravine.
The dog, Stormy, was physically unable to make his way up a 25-meter embankment, due to an injured hip.
The angle of the slope was fairly shallow, and AFRS crews were able retrieve the dog from the ravine in a timely manner.
It was the second time in the last four months that AFRS has been called to rescue a large dog from a ravine.
