City to host public meetings on composting program
The city will be hosting public meetings regarding its new curbside compostable collection program set to start on Jan. 1, 2013.
This new program allows food waste to be combined with yard waste. Both compostables and recyclables will be collected weekly, and garbage will be collected bi-weekly.
Meetings are scheduled for:
* Oct. 2 at Ross Elementary (2451 Ross Rd.) from 7-9 p.m.;
* Oct. 4 at Harry Sayers Elementary (31321 Blueridge Dr.) from 7-9 p.m.:
* and Oct. 18 and 25, and Nov 1 (locations have yet to be determined).
