Fire found near Hoover Lake
Mission firefighters are battling a 20 metre by 20 metre forest fire that was discovered near Hoover Lake around 1 p.m.
Mission Fire/Rescue Service requested help from the provincial Wildfire Management Branch to quell the blaze, estimated at 20 metres by 20 metres, said WMB fire information officer Donna MacPherson.
Fire retardant has been dropped on the fire, and helicopters are continuing to use their buckets to unload water onto the conflagration.
A total of 14 provincial firefighters and two helicopters were dispatched to supplement the Mission firefighters' efforts.
