AIRSHOW: Ground displays
This weekend the Abbotsford Airshow is celebrating 50 years of success, and features demonstrations from civilian and military aircraft both in the air, and on the ground.
Spectators are invited to tour the interior of carriers on display, and sit in the cockpit of various jets and planes.
On-ground entertainment also includes comedy routines, autograph booths to meet the pilots, military demonstrations and various vintage aircraft demonstrations, such as the B-25 Mitchell Bomber named "Grumpy," belonging to the History Flight Foundation.
Military personnel are standing nearby to explain the functions of each aircraft, and many planes also include a full history, among a variety of other facts.
Exhibit booths with information on how to join the aviation community are set up near the display grounds.
Gates are open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. with the ground displays available for viewing all day. Visit abbotsfordairshow.com for a full list of details.
