Abbotsford releases summer school stats

Stats released recently by the Abbotsford school district show that almost 1,700 students attended summer school in 2011.

This is the highest number to attend in recent years. They were taught by 74 teachers and 33 teaching assistants.

The district reports summer school operated on a break-even budget, with revenue coming from a Ministry of Education grant for each student, fees from international students, and grants from Envision Financial and the Rotary Club of Abbotsford.
