Abbotsford Fire Rescue aims for a 'green' Christmas
Abbotsford Fire Rescue Service has a goal to keep its annual Christmas wreath green throughout December.
The wreath is set up at firehall 1 (32270 George Ferguson Way). It has 31 green lights, representing each day of the month. For every day on which a preventable residential fire occurs, a green light is replaced with a red light.
There is also a sign board at hall 1 listing the number of residential fires, the number of “other calls,” and the total number of incidents. The board is updated every morning in December.
Fire safety tips are provided on the City of Abbotsford website at abbotsford.ca/fire.
