Abbotsford Police investigate prison stabbing of former Vancouver officer
The Abbotsford Police Department is investigating the stabbing of an inmate at Pacific Institution who has been identified by media sources as Peter Hodson, a former Vancouver Police officer convicted of dealing drugs on the job.
CTV News reported that Hodson's lawyer, Vincent Michaels, said his client underwent surgery Tuesday after being stabbed in the neck by another inmate. He has since been moved to the hospital in the Abbotsford prison.
The institution was locked down for a period after the assault, which occurred just before 8 p.m. on Monday.
Hodson was sentenced in September to three years in prison, after pleading guilty to trafficking marijuana in the Downtown Eastside.
