HST public forum at UFV in Abbotsford
The public is invited to a forum on the harmonized sales tax Friday, June 3 in Abbotsford, in advance of the referendum starting this month.
The forum takes place from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at University of the Fraser Valley (UFV), room B-101. Moderator is Rod Thomson, UFV board chair.
It is one of 10 forums being held across the province through the B.C. government's $500,000 public dialogue fund.
The sessions give the yes and no sides the opportunity to explain their views about the HST and respond to questions from citizens.
The discussions can be watched live online at hstpublicforums.ca, and the public can participate in online forums on Facebook and Twitter.
Referendum ballots will be mailed out by Elections BC starting June 13 and must be returned by July 22.
