$2.6 million for new Abbotsford fire hall
PAX Construction Ltd., a Burnaby-based general contracting firm, has been awarded a contract worth $2.595 million (not including HST) to construct Abbotsford’s newest fire hall.
Fire Hall 8 will be located at 30811 Blueridge Dr. and is designated as a two-bay, drive-through, career building capable of accommodating full-time personnel. When completed in January of 2012, the new facility will serve the area of west Abbotsford.
PAX Construction’s bid was the lowest of five pre-qualified bids received.
Abbotsford Fire Chief Don Beer said the project should now come in under budget, which was set at $3 million.
