From the perfect special gift for sister, daughter or mom, or a unique “just because” treat for yourself, you’ll be spoiled with choices at the Handpicked Vintage Market, coming to Abbotsford’s Quality Hotel & Conference Centre, Friday and Saturday.

Showcasing “vintage, pop-up, artisan and upcycled,” the show will welcome between 1,500 and 2,000 people, browsing among more than 50 vendors on-site for the two-day show, March 23 and 24.

“We make sure our vendors are well-curated, so people really enjoy the variety and quality of what they can find,” says Kimberley Byers, who hosts the show twice a year with Shannon Ross. (Tip: mark your calendar for the Christmas show, scheduled for Nov. le and 10.)

While Ross has more than 15 years’ experience in the event industry, Byers has spent those same years working in the decor and design field. “We decided to put our talents together and create a unique ‘handpicked’ market for all those who love the same things we do.”

Gifts galore: With Easter and Mother’s Day on the horizon – not to mention those spring birthdays – discover unique gifts “for the girls” you won’t find anywhere else – beautiful jewellery, one-of-a-kind fashions, luxurious hand-crafted soaps and more.

You’ll also find a variety of vendors specializing in unique items for babies and children, and even a few things for Father’s Day, like mobile booksellers Iron Dog Books, furniture makers and cedar creations.

Taste-tempting ideas: If you have a taste for Easter goodies, you’ll find that too – and more! Surrey’s Lonely Cake Bakehouse offers a tasty line of gluten-free foods – plus their new dessert jars! – there’s Something Chocolate and even fruit bouquets from Fruit Affair from Chilliwack.

Fun night – or day – out: Grab your friends for a night of shopping and head to the market Friday from 4 to 10 p.m. when the first 30 people through the door will receive swag bags packed with goodies hand selected from the event’s vendors.

On Saturday, doors are open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and kids can head to their own “makers” area to make an Easter Bunny garland. Cinderella from Ever After Princess Events will arrive at 3:20 p.m. and stay until the end of the show.

In addition to complimentary coffee to enjoy as you shop, a variety of food truck favourites will also be on-site, including O CanaDawg and Wings Outdoor Grill.

Admission to the Handpicked Vintage Market is $5, with children 12 and younger free. Enjoy free parking on-site at the Industrial Trade Centre, at the Quality Hotel & Conference Centre, 36035 North Parallel Rd. in Abbotsford. Learn more at handpickedvintagemarket.com or visit on Facebook!
