Chilliwack FC is hoping the words of its most famous alum will encourage players, parents and coaches to follow COVID-19 protocols.
The Canadian national team star, a professional player in France with Paris Saint-Germain, took to Twitter with a 32 second video.

“I just wanted to send out a quick message in regards to everything going on with coronavirus right now, just talking about how we need to keep our environment safe for the kids, for the families, for the friends and everyone who wants to enjoy that environment safely,” the teenager said. “Please wash your hands, wear your face masks and be as diligent as you can to keep that environment safe for you, for your kids, for everyone.
“It’s a place everyone goes to have fun, so let’s keep it that way, and I hope everyone is staying healthy and safe during these hard times.”
Chilliwack FC paused activities for two weeks following a COVID-19 outbreak at a local dance studio that spilled into the community.
Chilliwack FC was also in the center of a storm in late October when CFC chairperson Andrea Laycock went public about people not following COVID-19 guidelines.
