For the first time ever, the foam will fly in Abbotsford.

The 5K Foam Fest obstacle race tour invades Abbotsford Exhibition Park this Saturday, June 3, and more than 5,000 racers have already signed up for the debut event.

With over 22 obstacles, athletes and novices alike can participate alongside each other. The Foam Fest is a non-competitive obstacle course that is suitable for participants eight years of age and up. Participants receive a race bib, tattoo, water, medal, beach towel and more.

The festival is open to everyone. Both participants and spectators are welcome to partake in the event activities, featuring a kids’ zone, a 20-foot “sky fall” drop onto a stunt bag, bouncy castles, the world’s tallest portable inflatable water slide, food and drink vendors, and an on-site DJ.

“This event venue is going to be really amazing with some fantastic trails and great terrain,” said Jessie Fulton, the president and founder of 365 Sports Inc., which is organizing the event. “A special thanks to the City of Abbotsford and Tourism Abbotsford, as they are the ones who really helped us put this together and bring it to the community.”

It all gets underway at 8 a.m., with 15-minute wave times occurring all day long until the event concludes at 4 p.m.

Registration is no longer available online, but there will be limited opportunities to register on Saturday.
