The Great Plains performs in Abbotsford

Concert on Friday at Gladwin Heights Church

A fundraising concert with musical duo The Great Plains takes place Friday, Nov. 24 at Gladwin Heights Church (3474 Gladwin Rd.) in Abbotsford.

The concert starts at 7 p.m., featuring musicians Darrel and Saskia.

Enjoy a heart-warming show filled with music, merriment, and mayhem as Saskia and Darrel deliver a fun blend of music, an unpredictable series of songs that change every time you see them.

They delight their audiences with tales about grain elevators, war brides, patchwork quilts, and history makers such as Louis Riel and David Thompson.

They also share tender songs about their spiritual journey or break into Swiss yodeling, and sing in Gaelic, Dutch, German and French.

The Great Plains is a veteran touring act with an easy, crowd-friendly style that instantly endears them to any audience – a taste of Celtic, a dab of bluegrass and a touch of old-time country, all wrapped around beautiful melodies.

Saskia and Darrel perform throughout Canada and western Europe.

Tickets are $15 and are available at the church, from church members or by calling 604-852-3984 or 604-853-2262. Tickets are also available at the door.
