A new exhibit opens at the Kariton Gallery in Abbotsford on Saturday, Jan. 16.

“Painted Lights” will feature artwork that threads together themes of energy and vibrancy through the mediums of acrylics, photography and neon lights.

The exhibit showcases Janelle Fitz, a graduate with a bachelor of fine arts from UFV; multimedia artist Katherine Binns; and collaborative light pieces of Andrew Hibbs and Dana Mooney.

The opening reception runs from 6 to 8 p.m. on the 16th at the gallery, 2387 Ware St.

A free workshop will be facilitated by Binns, who will teach some of the techniques used in her paintings.

“Thick and Thin: Experimenting with Acrylic and Water,” is held Saturday, Jan. 23 at 3 p.m.

Come and learn how to create a range of effects through acrylics and water. Visit abbotsfordartscouncil.org for more details and to reserve a spot.
