The famous girl with the fiery red hair and an imagination that knows no bounds comes to life on the Gallery 7 Theatre stage as the company presents L.M. Montgomery’s classic Canadian tale Anne (of Green Gables) starting on June 13.

Adapted for the stage by Paul Ledoux, Anne is the finale to Gallery 7 Theatre’s 2013/2014 “Spice of Life” season.

Matthew and Marilla want to adopt a boy to help with the farm chores. Instead, they get the precocious Anne.

Uninhibited by her surroundings, Anne adapts to her new life, often locking heads with the austere Marilla, making new friends, and competing with her rival, Gilbert Blythe. Through the course of time, Anne transforms into a refined young woman in this story about finding your way.

Playing the title role of Anne Shirley is Danielle Warmenhoven, while the role of Matthew Cuthbert is played by Glen Pinchin.

Also featured are Charlene Crawford as Marilla Cuthbert, Josh Levesque as Gilbert Blythe, Anastasia McIntosh as Dianna Barry, Corryn Dyck as Ruby Gillis, Catrina Jackson as Josie Pye and Tiani Foster as Rachel Lynde.

Directing Anne is Megan Mackenzie. Set and lighting design is by Bryan Cutler, costume design is by Vicki Bolan and sound design is by Ron Jackson.

The stage manager is Kenzie Hall and production photography is by Dianna Lewis of Creative Memory Studios.

The production runs June 13 and 14, 19-21 and 26-28 at 7:30 p.m. with discount matinees June 14, 21 and 28 at 2 p.m. at the MEI Auditorium, 4081 Clearbrook Rd.
