A Vancouver country talent will be taking the stage at the 152nd annual Chilliwack Fair.
Singer-songwriter Shawn Austin will be performing on Friday, Aug. 9 at the historic fair, the Chilliwack and District Agricultural Society announced on June 14.
Having earned nominations for Canadian Country Music Association's (CCMA) Album of the Year, Single of the Year, and Rising Star Award, the flagship artist of Local Hay Records had the number-one, most-played country song for five consecutive weeks with gold-certified hit Tailgate To Heaven (ft. Chris Lane).
The year 2023 saw him receive the title of number-one most-added track for Slip and Settle for a Drink, both of which earned top-10 spots on Canadian charts.
Serving as direct support on national tours for three-time CCMA Entertainer of the Year Dallas Smith, and Academy of Country Music and CMA award-winning group Old Dominion, Austin was recently on The Country MixTape tour.
Austin is set to perform around 9 p.m., just after the rodeo on Aug. 9. The show is included with gate admission to the Chilliwack Fair.
The annual fair runs Aug. 9-11 at Chilliwack Heritage Park.
