American outlaw country music artist Cody Jinks has announced his Abbotsford debut when he brings the Hippies and Cowboys Tour to the Abbotsford Centre on Friday, July 4.
The Texas performer has released 11 studio albums and one live album since joining the country genre around 2006.
Jinks initially was involved in the Texas thrash metal scene before moving over to country. He is backed by The Tone Deaf Hippies band and will be joined on this tour by special guest Ward Davis.
Outlaw country music refers to those who work outside of the traditional Nashville bubble and tend to have a harder sound.
Jinks had his breakthrough album in 2016 with I'm Not The Devil, which third on the U.S. indie charts and fourth on the U.S. country charts. He has carried that momentum with his releases since, which have all charted high on both of those charts.
He has won the Music Row independent artist artist of the year in 2023, earned several Country Breakout artist of the year awards and several RIAA awards for selling albums.
The tour also makes Canadian stops in Kelowna (July 5), St. Catharines (June 5), Toronto (June 6) and Laval (June 7).
Tickets for the event go on sale to the general public on Friday (Feb. 14) at 10 a.m.
