Story of Scrooge comes to University of the Fraser Valley
Join Ebenezer Scrooge, Jacob Marley, Tiny Tim, and the famous trio of ghosts in the classic Christmas adventure A Christmas Carol.
Presented by Theatre Junkies Anonymous Fine Arts, A Christmas Carol is playing Dec. 19-22 at the new UFV Canada Education Park Studio Theatre on the old Canadian Forces Base in Chilliwack.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to see the unforgettable story come to life,” said director Gabriel Kirkley.
Adapted by Kirkley and local actor/playwright Thomas Smith from the story by Charles Dickens, this production preserves the setting and spirit of the original.
“If you’re looking for a way to get into the Christmas spirit this holiday season, I can’t think of any better way than watching Scrooge learn the value of family, friends and holiday cheer.”
The cast is full of theatre veterans and newcomers from Abbotsford, Chilliwack and around the Valley.
Jonathan Friesen, an alumnus of the UFV Theatre program, is taking on the lead role of Ebenezer Scrooge. Other performers include Aaron Froc as Bob Cratchit, Danielle Milette as Mrs. Cratchit, Patrick Jolicoeur as Fred, Parker Zacharias as Tiny Tim, and Connie Bahnman, Matt McLean and Dylan Schroeder as the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come.
Rounding out the ensemble cast are Jessie Whatley, Matthew Paine, Natasha Thompson, Torry Janz, Celina Lewis, and Terrell Zacharias.
