Abbotsford teen earns gold medal for violin skills
An Abbotsford boy recently received a gold medal for his violin skills after recording the highest mark in the province in Royal Conservatory of Music testing.
Josiah Vooys, 13, earned 91 per cent in the 2011 testing, and was presented with a gold medal for Grade 1 violin during a recent awards ceremony at the Chan Centre in Vancouver.
His score also earned Vooys a gold medal from the Abbotsford branch of the Registered Music Teachers of B.C.
Vooys is taught by Linda Jane at the Creative Music Studio in Abbotsford.
