Art in the Untamed Garden
The inaugural Art in the Untamed Garden outdoor event is scheduled to take place Sept. 16 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m at the Untamed Garden Studio, 8561 Bradner Rd. in Abbotsford.
Artist Donna Scheven has invited internationally renowned pastel artist Dianna Pointing to give painting demonstrations beginning at 1 p.m.
Across the street, Close to Home Organics Farm will have farm tours running at 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Fort Wine Co. Winery, located at 26151 84 Ave., will be open.
“It is an opportunity for people to take in the works of numerous artists and artisans in a natural, relaxed setting,” said Scheven.
She is a local artist who has worked in various media throughout the years, but fell in love with soft pastels.
There are 10 painters and five artisans in pottery, quilts, jewelry, photography and fused glass which will take part in the event. Admission is free.
