Edmonton rockers bring tour to Abbotsford
The Stereos will perform at the Abbotsford Arts Centre on April 3 with special guests Neverest.
The Juno nominated band features frontman Miles Holmwood, Pat Kordyback (vocals), Daniel Johnson (bass), Robb Chalifoux (rhythm guitar) and Aaron Verdonk (drums).
The Edmonton rockers got their big break in 2009 after appearing on an episode of MuchMusic's disBand. Shortly after performing on the show the group signed with Universal Music Canada.
The Stereos released their self-titled debut album in October 2009 with Juno winning producer Gavin Brown, who's worked with bands like Three Days Grace and Billy Talent. The group's first single, Summer Girl, debuted at No. 2 on the Canadian Hot 100 and the album was later certified gold.
Their sophomore album Uncontrollable maintains the band’s signature catchy lyrics and beats, while driving heavier bass lines and added synths for an overall pop-infused dance sound.
Neverest joins the cross-Canada tour this year and offers a blend of hard rock infused pop. The band teamed up with internationally acclaimed producer Anthony M. Jones for its first single About Us, which hit airwaves in October. Neverest will release its debut EP on March 29.
Tickets to the Abbotsford show are $25 from www.ticketweb.ca. The concert starts at 6 p.m., with doors opening at 5:30 p.m.
The Abbotsford Arts Centre is located at 2329 Crescent Way.
