The Walk for the Rice Reason was held last Thursday at Mill Lake, raising funds to help feed people globally and provide rice locally through the Abbotsford Food Bank.
The event was held by Hunger Response International, which runs the Rice Raiser and Have a Rice Day campaigns.
Several teams participated, including ones from Prospera Credit Union, Abbotsford Community Services and Alderbrook Community Church, which also gave out free bottles of water.
The Abbotsford Kiwanis Club was also there, serving up rice and beans. Students of Yale Secondary's Key Club helped cheer on walk participants at stations around the lake.
