The Terry Fox Run in Abbotsford is in need of an organizer.

The 37th annual run takes place Sept. 17, and Abbotsford is in need of a “motivated and compassionate” volunteer run organizer, according to the Terry Fox Foundation.

The community has been hosting a Terry Fox Run since 1985, contributing to the more than $750 million that has been raised worldwide, in Terry’s name, in support of vital progress made in cancer research over the past three decades.

The organizer’s responsibilities will include recruiting committee members, confirming the route, promoting the run, and overseeing run day activities.

The time commitment ranges from two to four hours weekly during the months leading up to the national run day.

The Terry Fox Foundation says the run organizer, whether a couple or individual, will be assisted by the foundation in the planning process and given the resources to make it a success.

Those interested are asked to call provincial director Donna White at 1-888-836-9786 or Donna.white@terryfoxrun.org.
