The following is a list of just some of the activities taking place in Abbotsford over the following week

DANCES ON FRIDAYS

The Abbotsford Social Activity Association (ASAA) hosts dances every Friday from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. at its hall, 33889 Essendene Ave. Cost is $8 for members and $10 for non-members. Bands for June are: Inner Mild (June 3), Stillwater (June 10), Classic Rewind (June 17) and Sweetwater (June 24).

MONSTER GARAGE SALE

The Mission Horse Club holds a monster garage sale on Saturday, June 4 and Sunday, June 5 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 2136 Sherwood Cres. The event includes professional face painting by donation (Saturday only) and a concession with treats.

SPINNERS AND WEAVERS

The Abbotsford Spinners and Weavers Guild hosts its 40th anniversary open house on Saturday, June 4 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Birkeland Bros., 33739 Essendene Ave. Info: abbotsfordspinnersandweavers@gmail.com

CLAYBURN MUSEUM

Clayburn Museum (4315 Wright St.) opens Saturday, June 4. The historic site will be open every Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. through June, July and August. Info: Helene at 604-854-3960

GUTSY WALK AT MILL LAKE

The Gutsy Walk for Crohn’s and Colitis takes place on Sunday, June 5 at Mill Lake Park. Registration is at 9 a.m., with the walk starting at 10 a.m. Register online at gutsywalk.ca.

WALK FOR THE CAWS

The Canadian Association for Williams Syndrome (CAWS) holds Walk for the CAWS on Sunday, June 5 at Mill Lake Park from 2 to 4 p.m. The 3 km walk raises funds and awareness in support of individuals living with Williams Syndrome. Participate in a drum circle after the walk. Info: wshappywalk.com

BUSINESS WOMEN MEET

The Abbotsford Business and Professional Women’s Club holds its year-end barbecue and annual general meeting on Friday, June 10. The event starts at 6 p.m. at 35503 Old Yale Rd. EMPLOYMENT MENTORS

SEXAHOLICS MEET

ALATEEN MEETINGS

Alateen, a part of Al-Anon Family Groups, is for young people whose lives have been affected by someone else’s drinking,  whether it’s a parent, sibling or friend.
