Positive Living Fraser Valley (PLFV) Society holds a hepatitis C awareness and testing event on Friday, July 28 in Abbotsford.

Everyone is encouraged to get tested for hep C. Representatives from Positive Living will give out information at the Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy (2388 McCallum Rd.) and London Drugs (32700 South Fraser Way) from 10 a.m. to noon.

The group will also offer information, food and testing from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at its main office at 108A - 32883 South Fraser Way. Individuals can also have a quick, free, painless fibro-scan of their liver from 1 to 3 p.m.

PLFV is a non-profit health organization specializing in HIV and viral hepatitis. They say that more than half of Canadians with hep C do not realize they are infected.

Call Positive Living at 604-854-1101 or email info@plfv.org for more information.
