It’s time to give a boost to an Abbotsford school library once again.

John Maclure Community School has been partnered up with Coles for the ongoing Indigo Love of Reading Foundation’s Adopt a School program. From Sept. 13 to Oct. 3, anyone can make a donation online through Indigo that the full proceeds will go toward filling up the school’s library. Donations are also being collected at the Seven Oaks Coles store.

“As the pandemic continues to impact the way students access reading materials, the Adopt a School program is continuing in its endeavour to upgrade library collections with updated and diverse learning materials, further enhancing their education and literacy skills,” a press release from the Indigo Love of Reading Foundation says.

They have already partnered with 153 Canadian “high-needs elementary schools.’

“As these schools and their students continue to navigate through the complexities of education during the pandemic, support is more essential than ever, and the opportunity to enrich the lives of students through their school libraries has never been greater,” Indigo’s release added.

The Indigo Love of Reading Foundation believes that providing access to the right book at the right time can significantly change a child’s life, propelling them toward success in education, and in life.

Earlier this year, Howe Middle School received a $70,000 grant from the same foundation.
