An International Women’s Day celebration takes place in Abbotsford on Saturday, March 5.
Organizations from Abbotsford and Mission are hosting the free event, titled We Gather Together, which runs from 1 to 4 p.m. at Civic Plaza and The Reach Gallery Museum.
Seven drumming performances will be held, including from All Nations Drummers, Drummers Crescendo, and groups from ASIA North Poplar elementary and Howe and Clayburn middle schools.
The event also includes guest speaker Coun. Sandy Blue, a presentation of the short film Reveal’ution on relational violence, and the Elementz Dance Crew leading the One Billion Rising portion of the event.
