Cecelia Reekie will speak on the topic ‘My Journey of Truth and Reconciliation’ on Saturday, June 15 at Clearbrook Library.

Indigenous advocate Cecelia Reekie presents a talk titled My Journey of Truth and Reconciliation on Saturday, June 15 at Clearbrook Library (32320 George Ferguson Way).

The talk, which begins at 1 p.m., is being held in recognition of National Indigenous Peoples Day (June 21).

A proud member of the Haisla Nation, Reekie was adopted as an infant.

She was reunited with her birth family, and began to learn the truth about the impact of colonialism on Canada’s Indigenous people, and its continuing legacy.

Reekie’s personal perspective offers compelling and valuable insight for those wanting a deeper understanding of our history as Canadians and the importance of reconciliation.
