The Abbotsford SPCA is asking for help to provide surgery for a kitten that was found wandering alone and limping.

The stray kitten, who the SPCA has named Helga, was brought to the local shelter and discovered to have a dislocated hip.

“Helga is such a sweetheart! She is a love bug who is super affectionate and always purring. She loves being held and cuddling into your neck,” says branch manager Sarah Ringer.

“Once her surgery is completed, she’ll be able to live a long, healthy and active life. She’s only five months old, so she’s still got a lot of life to live.”

The medical costs associated with Helga’s care are expected to exceed $2,000. A non-profit organization, the BC SPCA relies primarily on public donations.

“She is the most amazing, loving kitten who deserves to live without pain,” Ringer says, noting Helga will be available for adoption once her surgery and recovery are complete.

Donations can be made online at spca.bc.ca/medicalemergency or in person at 34312 Industrial Way in Abbotsford.
