More children are now able to start their day with a nutritious breakfast thanks to the Breakfast Club of Canada and Valley Laser Eye Centre joining together to launch a breakfast program at Alexander elementary.

Breakfast Club of Canada believes that all children should start their day with a healthy breakfast in a safe and supportive environment. Valley Laser Eye Centre’s commitment enabled the organization to launch a breakfast program at the local elementary school.

The funding for the program is worth $18,000 over three years. Once it is implemented, the program is open to any student who would like to participate, with 50 students expected to be involved. The Breakfast Club of Canada works in three-year cycles, with the opportunity to renew. The organization is always looking for local supporters to help sustain and grow breakfast programs in their areas.

“At Valley Laser Eye Centre, we believe that a child’s future starts with a good nurture in his early years. And that includes a healthy breakfast,” said the centre’s Dr. John Blaylock.
