People with disabilities are encouraged to get out and fish with Fishing Forever

People with disabilities are encouraged to get out and fish with Fishing Forever, a B.C. Wildlife Federation program.

This year’s event takes place June 7-8 at the Freshwater Fisheries Society of B.C. in Abbotsford from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The lake is wheelchair accessible and all fishing equipment will be supplied, along with a hotdog lunch and cake.

The event is free to disabled fishers and their caregivers, but participants are limited to two fish each. Bring your own chair and umbrella, if needed.

All participants must register to attend the event.

Please email your name and phone number to Fishing Forever coordinator Rob Ausma at write2rob@hotmail.com.

The Freshwaters Fisheries Society of B.C. is located at 34345 Vye Rd. at the corner of Riverside.
