A free public forum on mental illness and substance use takes place Wednesday, May 11 at Sevenoaks Alliance Church (2575 Gladwin Rd.) in Abbotsford.
The event runs from 6 to 9 p.m. and is hosted by the Abbotsford Mental Health and Addiction Advisory Council (AMHAAC).
This year’s event features personal stories from people who have lived with mental illness and/or substance use, as well as from their family members.
Facilitator is Mark Goheen, a clinical specialist with Fraser Health’s clinical specialist in mental health and substance use services.
In addition to hosting the forum, AMHAAC makes recommendations to the Regional Advisory Council, Fraser Health managers, and local organizations and agencies.
