Event in Abbotsford held for Overdose Awareness Day

Naloxone training is part of an event taking place Thursday in Jubilee Park for Overdose Awareness Day.

Positive Living Fraser Valley (PLFV) holds an event on Thursday, Aug. 31 in recognition of Overdose Awareness Day.

Community service providers are participating in the event, which includes an information/education booth all day at Sevenoaks Shopping Centre.

Information will also be provided from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at London Drugs in West Oaks Mall and Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy located at 2388 McCallum Rd.

Then, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Jubilee Park, there will be Naloxone training, overdose awareness information, a memorial quilt, speakers and food.

Partnering with PLFV are SARA for Women, Abbotsford Community Services, 5 and 2 Ministries, and Mennonite Central Committee.
