Discovery Luncheon raises more than $40,000

The BC Cancer Foundation’s Discovery Luncheon held recently in Abbotsford raised more than $40,000.

The funds will go toward the purchase of a piece of equipment that will “provide better patient outcomes and create clinical efficiencies” for lung cancer patients undergoing radiation treatment at BC Cancer Agency’s Abbotsford Centre.

The fourth annual Discovery Luncheon – held Nov. 1 a the Quality Hotel and Conference Centre – celebrated the importance of life-saving research happening each year at the centre and the future of cancer care through the latest advancements in treatment options.

Over the last four years, the Discovery Luncheon has raised more than $155,000 for ground-breaking cancer research and enhancements to patient care at the Abbotsford Centre.
