Cyrus Centre participates in 2019 Coldest Night of the Year Walk

Event on Saturday, Feb. 23 brings awareness about homelessness

Cyrus Centre in Abbotsford participates in the Coldest Night of the Year fundraiser on Saturday, Feb. 23.

Registration begins at 4 p.m. at Abbotsford Pentecostal Church (3145 Gladwin Rd.), followed by opening ceremonies at 5 p.m. and the walk at 5:15.

Coldest Night of the Year is part of a national initiative to help raise the awareness of homeless individuals.

The walk is a family-friendly event suitable for any fitness level. Routes of two, five and 10 kilometres are available.

Participants who raise their funds receive a toque, and dinner is served at the end.

Coffee from Starbucks and water bottles from Hub Insurance are provided to everyone.

Funds raised in Abbotsford help support the homeless and vulnerable youth of Abbotsford served by Cyrus Centre services for youth and families.
